#1 Dream Seminar: Take Serious Steps Forward

Do you know exactly how to get what you want?

Once you know what you really want in 2008, then what?  What is your first step?  What if you could take fewer steps to get there?

Taking serious steps forward is all about the 80/20 rule (20% of your actions produce 80% of your results).  Why take unnecessary steps?  Gathering the best resources also accelerates your results.  And being accountable to your commitments supports your success.

Katy’s dream was to buy a home by the river.  As part of the Dream Coach program, she created a 30-day plan.  It started with an elaborate list with minute details.  Applying the 80/20 rule, Katy simplified her plan to three basic steps.  And each person in the group contributed contacts, potential homes for sale, and ideas to generate the down payment.  In June, Katy happily reported to the group she was living by the river.

#1 Dream Seminar: Believe in Your Dream

How important is it to believe in your dream?

A belief is something you choose and it influences your thoughts and, therefore, your actions and results.  Beliefs are never neutral; they either move you toward or away from your dream.

It is imperative to create a strong belief in yourself and your dream so you take the necessary action to get what you want in life.  Having a powerful belief also helps you on the more difficult days.

When Beth decided she wanted to train for her first half-marathon, the dream seemed overwhelming.  Beth used the Dream Coach strategies to overcome obstacles and help build her belief, then she completed her first three-mile goal.  Four months later, Beth successfully ran her first half-marathon in the valley!

#1 Dream Seminar: Access Your Dreamer

Do you know what you really want for 2008?  When you think about your goal or dream, are you excited and inspired?

Accessing your dreamer is: tapping into the incredibly ambitious, anything-is-possible part of you and creating a dream you are passionate about.

Betty is a vivacious woman in the valley.  She attended the #1 Dream Workshop last year to have a fun day with her friend at the Aspen Club and Spa; they signed up for spa services and everything.  By the end of the day, Betty obviously accessed her dreamer.  She announced to the entire group her dream of owning a wine bar in Carbondale!

What is your passion?  What does your dreamer really want this year?

#1 Dream Seminar: Live on ‘Purpose’

If you’re dream is aligned with your purpose - you will be more likely to achieve it.

What is all this talk about finding your purpose? It’s not as complicated as you think. The problem is, we’re connected to our ego purpose “to help people”…”to be successful”…”to be happy”… and we don’t often know our ’soul’s’ purpose. For example “To be alive”…”To seek”…”To learn”…”To live life as an adventurer”.

Here’s a fun exercise if you’re liking where I’m going with this:
“Three Memories of Passion” Worksheet

1. List three memories from your life that you are passionate about:
(there is no right or wrong answer)
2. What’s the theme that threads your memories together?
(you don’t have to look too hard)

This could be your purpose! Try it on and let it evolve. See how the good things in your life evolve from that purpose you came up with.

It feels weird at first, because we are taught to be useful, not purposeful. Have Fun!sat-jan-19-_1-dream-invitation.pdf

#1 Dream Seminar: Step Two - Integrity

Do you have integrity?

What does integrity have to do with achieving your #1 dream? Everything.

Integrity is walking your talk—doing what you said you would to do.

Life coaching since the year 2000, I observed a trend. Women often keep promises to others and break promises with themselves.

For example, last year at the #1 Dream Workshop, there was a wonderful woman named Rebecca. She came to the event not really knowing what she wanted or what to expect. What Rebecca discovered was she had lost herself in her relationship with her husband. It had taken a huge effort to even attend the event; she bribed her husband with breakfast in bed.

When we took the group through the integrity exercise, Rebecca scored a 10 (the highest score) when it came to keeping promises to other people. And she scored a 2 (a much lower score) on keeping promises to herself. No wonder she wasn’t achieving what she wanted in life!

Today, Rebecca takes at least 10 minutes per day for herself. She and her husband take turns making breakfast. And she is training for a marathon.
When you keep your promises with yourself—do the things you said you would do—you eventually achieve your dream. It is that simple.

#1 Dream Seminar: Set an Intention

What typically happens when we have a dream for our lives?
We create a ‘to-do’ list and when it gets tough or boring or scary, we quit.
DREAM OVER.

Setting an intention is THE antithesis to the above scenario. It’s like a rudder that steers a boat; without it, no matter how windy, the boat can’t sail in a straight line. Think of an intention as a ‘directional force’.

*An intention can be set for a meeting: “To observe”
*An intention can be set before sleep: “Waking refreshed”
*An intention can be set for your whole life: “Live on Purpose”

You know when you’re wavering off intention when you feel ‘rusty’ or ‘direction-less’. All you have to do is remember your intention and find your direction again.

We can make it simple or we can make it hard; intention is the easiest way to stay on track.
