Help for tired skin
The heat, lack of sleep and minor irritability has left my skin feeling very “tired” this week. I feel drained and dehydrated, even though I guzzle water and try to eat right. Did you know the skin is the largest organ of the body? When we think of the skin as a living, breathing entity, it makes sense that it needs to be fed and nourished to keep healthy. As I’ve mentioned in other blogs, the sun and other elements really can take a toll on skin. Try to use protection whenever possible. As far as diet, cutting down on the alochol and caffeine is a good start. There are other things we can do to keep our skin alive and bright, some obvious and some not so clear. For example, do you shower after a day at the pool? Chlorine can’t be good for us. After a workout, skin should be cleansed to avoid clogged pores. Using sunscreen is obvious, and I recommend a nourishing day cream such as the one from Aspen Essentials. Once and again, eating fuits and vegetables and drinking lots of aqua keep the skin flush and hydrated. I am beginning to think that my “tired” skin just might be the result of a lack of sleep, it makes sense that perhaps my skin cells aren’t replenished when I am not replenished. So, in short, sleep well and keep well for healthier skin.
