Finding Flexibility - Is Likely the most neglected aspect of fitness, for most of us .We come into the gym and work out hard  but generally leave very little time to stretch and increase our flexibility levels.

Flexibility decreases risk of injury, increases blood and nutrients to joints , decelerates joint degeneration , ie . Osteoarthritis, boosts our coordination and reduces that muscle soreness , that we feel after a heavy workout session. So why do we not work on Flexibility ?  Most people believe that flexibility is some thing you have or you don’t.  Not True. The key is to finding flexibility, are in the way you train your muscles to respond when called upon and how consistently you  request them to work their potential. The more practiced you are at a particular exercise , the greater chance you will have to obtain flexibility from  performing it…So  your very commitment to achieving flexibility  is a strong factor in achieving it.!

Using  good breathing control is also the key to a sucessful stretch. Proper breathing  relaxes and warms by increasing blood flow, helping removing lactic acid and other by products  caused from exercise. Most importantly to achieve flexibility,  is that it requires strength to perform safely , so no sloppy movements .

To find the balance in your body between flexibility and strength is to focus on your core muscles.

Lift Way Beyond Your Limits

Tonight was the last night for body pump #60. Lisa did a fantastic job, like she always does. But speaking for myself I am excited to hear the new sound track of body pump #61. It makes the class fun when you get new tunes to listen too.

I got to say the guys are representing strong in body pump class. There were 4 guys there tonight, Ladies where are you?

This is a great class to reintroduce yourself to the gym with. It touches all points of the body and really gets the heart pumping, oh now I see why they call it body pump!

This Wednesday night at 5:30 we are launching the new Body Pump and would love to have lots of new faces there. Come have a great time, don’t feel intimidated because everyone will be new to this sound track. Remember we all were new one night, so come out and have a blast with everyone.

Lori, Lisa and Jodi will be team teaching this great class. What a trio, these 3 are 3 of the best teachers in the whole valley. They are giving away a bunch of awesome prizes as well. I heard a massage, a facial, an Aspen Life Vitamin pack personalized by me and some other goodies. So come out and have some fun with all of us on Wednesday night at 5:30 in the big studio. For all you Pilates people, Sarah is away so come have some fun in our class, Maybe we’ll give away a special prize to you if you mention this blog.
