Joyce Rankin has been teaching at the Aspen Club in a year-round, enclosed, heated pool for 14 years. The swim lesson program at the Aspen Club is a one-on-one personal training experience with an American Red Cross certified instructor. With 11 years of experience as an elementary school teacher she has a background in child development and educational learning skills. She works with children ages 3 and up in the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program. The student you see in the video is 5 year old Pearl. She has been in class for a month and has already mastered the skills required for Level 1 certification in the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program.
Aquatic personal training is a great cross training technique for fitness enthusiasts and also an excellent tool for injured athletes to stay in shape and build strength and endurance while healing.

feeling better after a workout
As I sit here at my desk I am feeling exhausted. I was trying to figure out why I feel so wiped out… then it hits me, I missed my workout today! I have been doing personal training sessions with Dirk at the aspen club and he is on vacation this week. Since I have not worked out today I am actually feeling more tired than if I had… It’s so funny how that works… Even when I am feeling tired after a workout at least I feel good…really good… the juices are flowing and my mind is creative and stress free. Now I just feel unmotivated and uncreative. I think I’ll take a walk after work. I’m excited to have my trainer back though!
